Editor’s correction

Date:

In the story “Arborg and Bifrost-Riverton discuss options for new soccer and baseball fields, funding commitment” in the Feb. 19, 2026, edition of the Express Weekly News, a breakdown of the Municipality of Bifrost-Riverton’s spending on recreation in Riverton and in Arborg was provided in an image, but the caption underneath the image contained an error. The caption should have indicated that the two different columns of recreation spending — one showing Arborg-Bifrost and one showing Bifrost-Riverton — represented 100 per cent of Bifrost-Riverton’s spending on recreation services. Although the Municipality of Bifrost-Riverton and the Town of Arborg do in fact share 50 per cent of the cost of recreation in Arborg only, the numbers in the image represent only Bifrost-Riverton’s costs. To recap, the municipality spent about $2,445,694.43 (1,371,973.62 for recreation in Arborg and 1,073,720.81 for recreation in Riverton) in total for 2021-2025.

The Express apologizes for the error.
