Gimli hosts send-off for Team Einarson

Date:

Fans gathered at the Gimli Recreation Centre on March 7 to give a warm community send-off to Team Kerri Einarson as they prepare to represent Canada at the World Women’s Curling Championship in Calgary from March 14 to 22. The event featured an autograph session, jersey raffle, refreshments and cake. Supporters packed the second-floor venue to congratulate the Manitoba-based rink and wish them luck on the international stage. Gimli Mayor Kevin Chudd and Interlake–Gimli MLA Derek Johnson were also in attendance to offer their congratulations and best wishes to the team. Several attendees won signed Team Einarson jerseys during a raffle held as part of the celebration. Proceeds from the jersey raffle were donated to Gimli youth curling.
