Gypsumville RCMP seize cocaine, charge man

Gypsumville RCMP have seized cocaine, a handgun and cash during an investigation on Lake St. Martin First Nation.

On March 6 at approximately 5 p.m., officers were searching for a person of interest in the community when they attended a residence on Lake St. Martin First Nation.

During the investigation, police located drugs inside the home, including a vacuum-sealed bag believed to contain cocaine and 10 small individual bags of crack cocaine. Officers also seized drug paraphernalia, a handgun, ammunition and more than $1,300 in cash.

A suspect was arrested at the scene.

Jared Marsden, 24, of Lake St. Martin First Nation, has been charged with possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking. He was remanded into custody.

The investigation continues.
