Park elected Interlake vice-president in Red River Métis election

John (Jack) Park has been elected vice-president for the Interlake Region following the Red River Métis National Election held June 23.

According to unofficial results released by the Manitoba Métis Federation, Park received 442 votes to win the vice-president race. Alfred “Buck” Anderson received 314 votes, while Carl Chartrand received 158.

In the race for the Interlake Region’s two Regional Executive Officer positions, Mona Buors led the field with 639 votes, while Clint Webb was elected with 417 votes. Keith Ginther received 392 votes.

The results remain unofficial pending verification by the Manitoba Métis Federation.
