Carman Veterinary Clinic accepting donations for a ‘Season FUR Everyone’

Date:

The Manitoba Veterinary Medical Association (MVMA) is excited to announce the launch of its annual “Season FUR Everyone” campaign, a heartwarming initiative aimed at supporting pets in need during the winter season. This December, veterinary clinics across Manitoba will come together to collect and deliver donations of pet food and supplies to families, shelters, rescues, and local food banks.

The holiday season can be particularly challenging for many pets and their families. Recognizing this, the MVMA has taken the initiative to ensure that no pet goes hungry during these colder months. Veterinary clinics participating in the “Season FUR Everyone” campaign will act as collection points for donations from the public.

Manitobans are encouraged to extend their generosity and love for animals by donating pet food and supplies at any participating veterinary clinic. This is a wonderful opportunity for animal lovers to make a tangible difference in the lives of pets in their communities.

Each participating clinic will select a local family, shelter, rescue, or food bank to receive the collected donations. This ensures that the contributions make a direct and meaningful impact within their communities.

This year, throughout December, the Carman Veterinary Clinic is accepting donations for the Pembina Valley Humane Society through their, “Operation Santa Paws,” initiative.

The list of needed supplies include: wet and dry kitten food, wet cat food, dry puppy food, wet dog food, laundry detergent, compostable kitchen bags, clumping cat litter, disposable gloves, liver dog treats and doggy poop bags.

Donations can be dropped off Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 195 Main St. South #1, Carman. The deadline for donation drop-offs is Dec. 22.

This allows sufficient time for the donations to be sorted and delivered, ensuring that pets in need can enjoy a happier and healthier holiday season.

The MVMA believes that every pet deserves a loving home and the necessary care to thrive.

As many of us know, the holiday season can increase stress and financial strain, but it can be particularly challenging for families with pets. Unfortunately, tight finances can affect the lives of our furry friends.

Kusano said the initiative aims to alleviate these additional challenges and ensure pets receive the care and nutrition they need and deserve.

Through financial hardships during the holiday season, an initiative like this could be the one thing standing between families having to surrender their beloved pets and keeping them past the tough season. It also helps avoid adding additional strain to the already struggling rescues in Manitoba.

“We believe that every contribution, no matter its size, plays a vital part in making a positive difference in the lives of pets and their families during the winter season,” said Kusano.

“We see ‘Season FUR Everyone’ not just as a campaign to collect donations but as a movement that fosters a sense of community and raises awareness about animal welfare,” she said.
