Interactive Wellness Day on March 27 in Carman

Date:

Carman’s Interactive Wellness Day will be held on March 27 from noon to 5 p.m. at the Carman Legion Auxiliary Hall.

It will be an action-packed, fun-filled afternoon, and it is planned for people in attendance to try new wellness techniques and hear from six different professionals.

The speakers lined up for the event are Lee Collingridge (Young Living Essential Oils Silver), Amanda Martens (BA MA Health Counselling), Zofia Dove (Communications Expert in Palliative Care), Evelyn Hoogerdijk (Taekwondo Black Belt), Lana Yaskiw (Young Living Essential Oils Silver), Diane Gillingham (Newcomer Support) and Linda Revel (Fitness Instructor).

“I put on the first Wellness Day last year at this time,” said Collingridge. The intention is to make it an annual event in Carman. I myself am a distributor for Young Living Essential Oils, which is a very useful tool in a healthy lifestyle and can help with sleep, pain, digestion, skin issues, and much more.”

“Through my own associations, I realized that a problem that many people have is that they would like to try fitness and health methods before they actually buy into it. They want to know that it is useful for them and is a good fit.”

Collingridge also realized that one method is usually not a complete answer for anyone, and it needs to be a lifestyle change that combines fitness, food, mental health, and community involvement. Therefore, she decided to pull together a group of professionals and educators who are happy to show and speak about what they have to offer without commitment from the individual.

“We make it fun and interactive, where people will participate if they want to or just listen. We have an opportunity to talk as a group and one-on-one with the presenters. I got most of the presenters through my own community involvement, and the keynote speaker, Zofia Dove, is a personal friend. I believe that it is imperative that we interact with others as we make our way through life’s ever-changing issues, that we look for new and effective ways to cope and create our own happiness.”

In the afternoon, you will try a taekwondo move, exercise, chat with a health therapist, interact with a communications expert, and find the oil for your issue. Educate yourself about the newcomers to Car-man and win a nice prize.”

“It’s all about friendship and wellness methods that you can try without having to buy,” said Collingridge. “This afternoon will be uplifting, entertaining and full of info that you can keep. Last year, we had four subjects, and everyone left with a smile. This year, we have grown to have six ways to wellness, and we promise you a great afternoon.”

People are encouraged to come and spend the whole afternoon to get the most out of the day. There will be prizes and refreshments throughout the afternoon. Tickets are $40 and can be purchased from Lee Collingridge at leecollingu@gmail.com or 204-750-1338.
