Young voices spread holiday cheer

Date:

École Carman Elementary School students from multiple classes — including  Grade 1 (1S) and Grade 2 (2M) — performed a seasonal concert for residents and guests at the Riverview Legion Lodge apartment complex in December.  On Jan. 9 students from four classes — Kindergarten French Immersion (KS) and Kindergarten English (KM), Grade 1 (1S) and Grade 2 (2M) performed a second one for Boyne Lodge residents. Under the direction of music teacher Mrs. Myrna Klassen, the students sang a seven-song set featuring Falling Leaf, Blowing in the Wind, It’s Snowing Outside, Hot Chocolate, Snowflakes in the Air and Pretty Snowflakes, before closing with Jingle All the Way. The performance included scarves, choreographed actions and percussion instruments such as jingle bells and homemade shakers created in class.
