Stonewall Art Group takes another shot at art display at library

Date:

Stonewall Art Group’s new display will be showcased at the South Interlake Regional Library in Stonewall until Nov. 6.

It’s not the group’s first rodeo at the library. Back in March 2020, the Stonewall Art Group organized their first show at the library, but it did not go as planned due to the state of the world at the time. The COVID-19 lockdowns  took place shortly after the installation of the display, and few residents ever saw the beautiful pieces. Instead, the library staff enjoyed the pieces during the period.

Three years later, the group is taking another shot at it, hoping more community members will see their hard work. Approximately 30 pieces of art are on display, including various mediums and inspirations, including landscapes, abstracts, oils, watercolours, acrylics, pen and ink, stained glass, and felted figures.

The art group meets every Monday afternoon from 1 to 4 p.m. at Stonewall’s Heritage Art Centre and on Tuesdays when Monday falls on a statutory holiday. If you are interested in getting involved, the group is always looking for new members, so feel free to drop by and check it out. For more information, email stonewallartgroup@gmail.com
