Stonewall Small Business Spotlight marks 16th year of community celebration

Date:

The Stonewall Small Business Spotlight is set to return for its 16th year, bringing together more than 35 vendors for a day of shopping, community connection and local pride.

The event takes place Saturday, Oct. 18 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Stonewall Legion and promises a mix of familiar faces and exciting newcomers.

“Visitors can look forward to a wide variety of vendors once again, with many of our popular favourites returning and some exciting new faces joining us for the first time,” said organizer Tanya Swanson, who coordinates the event alongside Kerrie Holm.

This year’s lineup includes new vendors such as Adventures Away from Holm Travel, Prairie Skye, Scrappy Tote Bags and Made by Kidz, joining long-time local favourites that attendees have come to love.

“There’s something for everyone,” Swanson said. “Vendors will be showcasing travel and adventure experiences, Prairie Honey, Prairie Sun candles, local artisans, specialty foods, handmade goods and so much more. It’s the perfect chance to shop locally and find unique holiday gifts.”

Attendees can also take part in special features and giveaways throughout the day. Many vendors will run their own draws and promotions, while the organizers will host a $50 “market money” door prize, redeemable with any vendor. Motion 360 will also be on-site offering complimentary video experiences.

Admission is by donation, with 100 per cent of proceeds going to the Stonewall Christmas Cheer Board. A 50/50 draw will also be held, with half of the funds supporting the Coffeehouse to End Cancer.

“Each year we choose a different local organization or cause to support,” Swanson said. “This year we felt strongly about contributing to cancer support initiatives, as it’s something that has touched many of our lives.”

The Stonewall Small Business Spotlight continues to shine as a beloved community tradition, offering residents a chance to support local entrepreneurs while giving back to causes close to home.
