Stony Mountain Medical Clinic offers new family practice

Date:

Stony Mountain residents have a new medical clinic in town if they need to see a doctor.

Dr. Idowu Dare officially opened the Stony Mountain Medical Clinic, which serves as a family practice and a walk-in clinic, on July 22.

The Stony Mountain Medical Clinic will open in the same building as the Stony Mountain Pharmacy. Both establishments have been renovating the building in preparation for the clinic’s grand opening.

“It is a big event,” said pharmacy owner Sam Ghattaf.

He explained the challenges of finding a family doctor and the benefits of having a physician located nearby in the small town.

“It is very handy to have a medical system in the town for the community,” added Ghattaaf.

For the last thirteen years, Dr. Dare has been providing medical care as a doctor for patients all over the globe.

He obtained his postgraduate medical training in the United Kingdom in 2021 and his Family Physicians of Canada Certification in 2022.

Dr. Dare has been providing care to families in the Interlake since 2022. He has obtained several additional medical diplomas to ensure he can provide the most well-rounded care to his patients.

“This is the first time a doctor has practiced in Stony Mountain since 1995,” explained Ghattaf.

Since 2014, the pharmacy has been offering community members pharmaceutical services.

Ghattaf is thrilled about the opening of the new clinic.

“I am looking forward to helping patients from Stony Mountain and surrounding towns.”

Stony Mountain Medical Clinic is actively accepting new patients. You do not have to be from Stony Mountain to book an appointment with Dr. Dare.

The Clinic and Pharmacy are open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., located at 5 Main St in Stony Mountain.

To schedule an appointment, call (204) 344-6005 or visit their office and wait for a walk-in appointment.
