Gimli Red River Metis celebrated the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation last Saturday. The RM of Gimli Every Child Matters ceremony featured Indigenous drumming, stories, bonfires and a performance by the Darren Lavallee Band. It was a day to pause, reflect and honour residential school survivors and those who didn’t return home. To carry forward the spirit that every child matters.
