Stonewall steps up

Date:

The annual South West District Palliative Care (SWDPC) Hike for Hospice took place in Stonewall last Sunday, drawing strong community support both in person and virtually.

Participants walked five kilometres and helped raise approximately $7,000 through pledges. All funds go directly toward enhancing local palliative care services. With continued support, SWDPC is able to provide essential resources to families facing end-of-life challenges in the region.

Pledges will be accepted until May 11 at www.canadahelps.org.

The Stonewall & District Lions hosted a pancake breakfast in conjunction with the event and will present a cheque to SWDPC during its annual general meeting on May 20. Next year’s Hike for Hospice is scheduled for the first Sunday in May.

Teri Stevens, Sandra Smith, James Bezan, Kelly Bezan, Chuck McLure and Alice Smith took part in the South West District Palliative Care Hike for Hospice held in Stonewall on Sunday
