Sweet success: Smile Cookie campaign raises over $11k for SCCR

Date:

The South Central Cancer Resource (SCCR) recently celebrated a record-breaking success in the 2025 Tim Hortons Smile Cookie campaign, raising an impressive $11,197. This marks the fourth consecutive year that SCCR has been the beneficiary of the campaign at the Carman Tim Hortons location. Jack Pethybridge of SCCR expressed gratitude, noting, “We are always amazed at the community support we receive. It means so much to us.”

The campaign’s success was bolstered by the enthusiastic participation of volunteers from SCCR’s board, CIBC, and Access Credit Union, who assisted in decorating the iconic smile cookies. Jeff and Linda Doerksen, owners of the Carman Tim Hortons, have been instrumental in supporting SCCR through this initiative. Their commitment, along with the community’s generosity, has significantly contributed to the campaign’s achievements over the years.

Looking ahead, SCCR is eager to continue this partnership, aiming to set new fundraising goals in future campaigns. The organization’s dedication to providing support services to cancer patients in the region remains steadfast, and the funds raised through the Smile Cookie campaign play a vital role in sustaining these efforts.
