The Stonewall Curling Club is kicking off a new season this week and celebrating the first recipient of its newly created annual scholarship.

Colby Salkeld, pictured, received the inaugural Stonewall Curling Club Scholarship, valued at $500. The award recognizes a club member who has graduated from high school and is continuing on to post-secondary education.

The club also plans to host several adult curling clinics throughout the year. Those interested in being contacted about upcoming sessions can email info@stonewallcurling.com to join the notification list.

In addition, the club is updating its list of Honourary Life Members — an honour given to anyone who has been a club member for at least 25 years, consecutive or not. Members who know of someone who qualifies are encouraged to reach out to info@stonewallcurling.com so the club can recognize them appropriately.
