Ice Dawgs dominate Satelites for first regulation win

Date:

The Arborg Ice Dawgs snapped the losing skid in dominant fashion Saturday night at home.

Less than 24 hours after falling 5-2 to the Lundar Falcons on Friday, the Ice Dawgs downed the North Winnipeg Satelites 11-3 for first regulation win of the season.

The Satelites entered the match the sixth place team in the Capital Region Junior Hockey League with Arborg ranked seventh and looking to snap a four-game slide.

Brody Maxwell led the way for the Ice Dawgs with a hat trick including the opening goal in the first.

Brandon Burak and Eastyn Bochurka also had multi-goal evenings, netting two apiece, while Tytan Johnson, Dylan Woytowich, Brycen Johannesson, and Hunter Loewen scored the rest.

Paxton Moore meanwhile made 43 saves for his first victory of 2025-26.

The Ice Dawgs ultimately outshot the Satelites 56-46 while teams combined for 54 penalty minutes.

Arborg now hold a 1-8-0-2-0 record and moved within three points of the Satelites with the win.

They will have a chance to tie them in the standings Tuesday when they meet again at 8 p.m. from Billy Mosienko Arena.

Arborg will then head east for Beausejour on Saturday where they will take on the Comets at 7 p.m. from Beausejour Sportsplex.
