Ice Dawgs delivering 100 pounds of food to the local cheer board

Date:

The Arborg Ice Dawgs went the extra mile on and off the ice to raise food for their local food bank as many residents in the area are struggling to make ends meet during the ongoing cost-of-living crisis.

With high food prices holding steady and expected to increase in 2026, the team wanted to give back to its community for all the support it sees during the hockey season.

Last week, Ice Dawgs’ players donated about 100 pounds of food to the Arborg & District Christmas Cheer Board, which provides food hampers at Christmastime to ensure that everyone in the community can celebrate the day.

The team, which is a member of the Capital Region Junior Hockey League, played St. Malo Warriors on Dec. 12 at the Arborg Arena. It invited fans to bring a tin for the bin.
