Fishermen win gold

The Selkirk Fishermen U9 A1 team captured gold at the Warren tournament on Sunday, finishing first out of six teams in the A1 Division and defeating the River East Royals 7–2 in the championship final. Selkirk went undefeated in round-robin play with wins over the Brandon Jets (16–0) and Springfield Icehawks (5–3), then advanced with a 5–4 semifinal victory over Springfield before claiming the title.
