Grade 5 and 6 students at Arborg Early Middle School performed Pirates! The Musical on May 12, entertaining an audience of about 130 community members after spending a month rehearsing lines, choreography and stage direction
Thirty students spent a month rehearsing lines, stage directions and choreography ahead of the performance. Show directors Mrs. Carlin Kilbrei and Mrs. Nadine Trumbley said the students took to the stage with a mixture of nerves, excitement and confidence, entertaining an audience of about 130 community members.
“The choir sounded wonderful, the soloists were confident, and the students all seemed so natural,” Kilbrei and Trumbley said in a combined statement. “They were proud of themselves and wished they could have performed it again for even more people.”
The directors added that Pirates the Musical — like any production — showcased teamwork, perseverance, creativity and artistry while helping students create lifelong memories with friends.
“All students felt a sense of belonging to a team,” they said. “They were encouraged to be unique, to show their talents and strengths, and to pursue their interests and passions, knowing their contributions really matter.”
