The Interlake Phillies U13 squad highlighted the week for the organization, playing four games and earning a victory while battling a pair of Manitoba Premier AAA Softball League opponents.
The Phillies opened the weekend June 20 at Quarry Park in Stonewall, edging the Manitoba Angels 8-7 in the opener before falling 11-4 in the second game of the doubleheader.
Interlake then travelled to Friedensfeld on June 21 for a pair of games against the Eastman Wildcats. The Phillies dropped the opener 9-3 before falling 13-9 in the second contest.
The U13 squad returns to action June 28 when it hosts the Westman Magic at Quarry Park Diamond 3 in Stonewall. The doubleheader is scheduled for noon and 2 p.m.
The Interlake Phillies U15 team picked up a convincing victory in its lone game of the week, defeating the Eastman Wildcats 8-1 on June 16 at JBSC 1.
The win continued the Phillies’ strong season as they limited the Wildcats to a single run while producing eight of their own on home field.
The U15 squad does not play this week but will begin a busy stretch June 30 when it hosts the Smittys Terminators at Quarry Park Diamond 3. The doubleheader is scheduled for 5 p.m. and 7 p.m.
Interlake will then travel to face the Winnipeg Lightning on July 3 at Riel Park before returning home July 4 to host Central Energy at Quarry Park Diamond 3.
The Interlake Phillies U17 team did not see league action this past week but faces a busy schedule over the coming days.
The Phillies will host the Eastman Wildcats on June 24 at JBSC 1 in a pair of rescheduled games originally slated for June 10 but postponed because of weather. The doubleheader is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.
Interlake will then return to Quarry Park Diamond 3 on June 28 to host the Westman Magic. First pitch is scheduled for noon, with the second game to follow at 2 p.m. as the U17 squad looks to build momentum through the middle portion of the season.
