The Stonewall Sr. Blue Jays dropped a pair of Winnipeg Senior Baseball League games last week, falling to the Carillon Sultans and Elmwood Giants.
Stonewall opened the week with a 7-2 loss to Carillon on Wednesday in Grosse Isle before suffering a 7-4 setback to the Elmwood Giants on Thursday at Koskie Field.
Against Elmwood, the Blue Jays built a 4-1 lead after scoring in four of the first five innings. The Giants responded with two runs in the fifth before breaking the game open with four more in the sixth to complete the comeback.
The two losses drop Stonewall to 4-8 on the season with a minus-34 run differential, leaving the club near the bottom of the league standings.
The Blue Jays return to action Monday, June 29, against the Carillon Sultans in a home game beginning at 7:30 p.m. before travelling to face the North Winnipeg Pirates on Thursday, July 2, at 7 p.m. at Vince Leah Recreation Centre.
