Stonewall resident recognized by Lieutenant Governor

Date:

Stonewall’s Jon Gerrard was among the esteemed Manitobans selected to receive The King Charles III Coronation Medal on Oct. 24.

Fifty-five Manitobans who have displayed exemplary contributions to the province or country were selected by The Honourable Anita Neville, Lieutenant Governor of Manitoba, to receive the prestigious award.

Gerrard’s efforts included many contributions to Winnipeg’s Children’s Hospital and CancerCare Manitoba. He also served as a Portage-Interlake political representative for many years, and he was the leader of the Manitoba Liberal Party. Gerrard advocated for improved healthcare systems and advocated for individuals living with learning disabilities.

Gerrard is also the co-lead on a bald eagle study, which has been researched for over half a century.
