Carman Collegiate golf team participates at Miami Cup

Date:

On Sept. 12, Carman Collegiate sent two boys’ golf teams to participate in the Miami Cup scramble.

The two teams of four players finished first and second overall in the scramble. The winning team that shot 9-under on the day was Nate Phillips, Brayden Cox, Josh Hiebert and Cade MacCallum, while the second-place team coming in at 8-under was Zander Cox, Ryder Wolfe, Adrien McIntosh and Kierson North.

“All of the students were Grade 12s, so it was a fun event to begin their Grade 12 school years by competing in some golf,” said Carman Collegiate athletic director James Ballantyne.

Carman Collegiate golf season is over, and there will be no provincials. The school didn’t field a girl’s team this year, and the boy’s team didn’t qualify for provincials at the MHSAA Zones.
