Carman sharpshooter Andrew Wolfe is fundraising to help cover the costs of his upcoming trip in August, where he will once again represent Canada at the 2025 World Rimfire (.22 LR) Championships in Birmingham, England.
Wolfe began shooting at the age of five with a BB gun. Guided by his father, he graduated with a .22 calibre rifle at seven. With the help of his coach, Mike Gorchynski, Wolfe learned long-range and precision shooting, which led him to buy his first long-range rifle. Since then, he has been dedicated to the sport.
Wolfe’s rapid ascent to the Canadian National Junior Team is remarkable, especially considering he only became a serious long-range shooter during the pandemic. He was selected to represent Team Canada after an impressive season. He finished first overall for youth shooters at the national event and third overall in Canada among adult competitors, competing against over 600 participants from across the country.
As a Grade 12 student at Carman Collegiate, Wolfe also finished second as a member of Team Canada at the World International Precision Rifle Federation (IPRF) competition, held in Grand Junction, Colorado, from September 11 to 17, 2024. This year, he has been chosen again to represent Canada internationally at the World Rimfire (.22 LR) Championships in Birmingham, England, from August 17 to 24. Additionally, he will travel to Washington in May for the Rimfire National Shoot, which will serve as a training event in preparation for the World Championships.
“Our goal is to get on the podium again at the Rimfire World Championships, and I need the public’s help to make this year a success for myself and our team,” said Andrew Wolfe.
To help cover travel expenses like flights and hotels for these upcoming trips, Wolfe and his family are organizing a cash calendar fundraiser. The calendars are $25 each and can be purchased by texting Andrew’s dad, Jon Wolfe, at 204-771-1922.
