Hawks hosting Hockey Fights Cancer night at game on Nov. 23

Date:

On Nov. 23, the Pembina Valley Hawks AAA U17 team will lace up their skates to face off against the Westman Ice Bandits at the Carman Arena with puck drop at 6 p.m. But this isn’t just another game, its the Hawks’ Hockey Fights Cancer event game; a special event dedicated to fighting cancer.

Fans can support this important cause by donating for admission and taking part in a silent auction filled with exciting items. Join local players from across the region as they rally together not only for victory on the ice but also to make a significant impact in the fight against cancer.

This is the inaugural year that the U17 level has a ‘AAA’ team in the Pembina Valley region. In the past, the local high school teams wanted their local players for themselves. Fortunately, they decided to base a ‘AAA’ team in Carman this season.

The team’s players are from Plum Coulee, Morris, Winkler, Morden, Elm Creek, Altona, La Salle, Somerset and Swan Lake. The Hawks are currently in sixth place in the eight-team league with a record of 4-8-1.

“It’s been a great start to the season,” said team manager Mandy LeGall. “We have a great group of kids, coaches and parents.”
