Musician Ian Sherwood is coming to Carman on Feb. 25

Residents will have the chance to enjoy the music of Canadian Folk Music Award winner Ian Sherwood during his highly anticipated 2025 tour, making a stop in Carman on Feb. 25. The concert will be hosted by the Golden Prairie Arts Council at the Carman Active Living Centre, starting at 7 p.m. Dartmouth, Nova Scotia’s Ian Sherwood is celebrated for his unique blend of folk, pop, and roots music. He is set to captivate audiences across the province with his mesmerizing performances and engaging storytelling. “We’re thrilled to have Ian Sherwood performing at Prairie Fusion because of his exceptional talent and captivating stage presence,” said Lorna Knight, Executive Director at Prairie Fusion Arts and Entertainment Inc. “It’s a rare treat for our audience to enjoy such an engaging and dynamic artist live.” Proudly supported by the Manitoba Arts Network and local arts councils, this tour offers more than just a series of concerts; it provides an opportunity to connect Manitobans with world-class music while fostering vibrant cultural experiences in rural communities. Sherwood’s performances are renowned for their warmth, charm, and ability to inspire audiences.

Other towns on the tour include Killarney, Dauphin, Portage la Prairie, and Pinawa. “Ian Sherwood was one of the featured performers at Manitoba Showcase 2023, our annual event showcasing Canadian performing and visual artists,” said Akshay Vaid of the Manitoba Arts Network. “The conference gives presenters and galleries the chance to book talented artists, and Ian was a crowd favourite. Nearly every presenter showed interest in booking him, believing their communities would enjoy his performances, and that is how we booked him for five shows across Manitoba.”
