Get ready, Carman residents! There’s an exciting new addition coming to town that will have you revving your engines with delight. Hometown Carwash is gearing up to open its doors in January, offering a convenient and efficient way for you to keep your vehicles sparkling clean.

The touchless automatic carwash is located at 169 Main Street South in Carman.
Hometown Carwash is owned by Dustin and Lisa (Kissick) Dreger. Lisa grew up in Carman, and Dustin has officially adopted it as his own hometown as well, hence the name choice for the business.
In December of 2021, the Dregers started brainstorming the idea of the carwash and potential interest in the property. They purchased the property in June of 2022, and construction began in July of 2023.
“We have two young girls in the community, and we really want to see Carman continue to thrive and felt this could be one of our contributions to it,” said Lisa Dreger. “We’re very excited to have it open and also hopeful it is well received by the community.”
“As far as construction, everything’s been going smoothly. It was important to us to keep as much of the build with as many local companies as possible, and we have been very happy with how things are coming together thus far.”
The Dregers are hoping to be officially open and operating by early January. However, the weather and other factors can potentially cause delays.
“As far as a grand opening, we’re planning on doing a soft opening when we’re ready to officially open the doors, and a grand opening in the spring when it’s a bit more tolerable to stand outside.”
Hometown Carwash will have four wash packages, the base starting at $12 (Bronze), $14 (Silver), $16 (Gold) and $18 (Platinum). Payment will be cashless and made from your vehicle by tapping your debit or credit card at the self-serve teller outside the entry door.
One of the best parts of the whole experience is that you never need to leave your vehicle. Other features to mention include the rocker panel/undercarriage spray as well as drying time will be offered on all washes. Other options throughout the packages include high-pressure wash passes, soaps and waxes, bug prep or rust inhibitor (seasonal).
“It’s a touchless automatic carwash which for those who may be unfamiliar, touchless is wash equipment that does not come into contact with your vehicle at all throughout the wash, but rather relies on high-pressure blasts of water and eco-friendly soaps and waxes to clean your car,” said Dreger.
Hometown Carwash will be open seven days a week, from around 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. The owners can be contacted via email at htwncarwash@gmail.com or on Instagram @hometowncarwashcarman.
