Treherne RCMP respond to fatal single vehicle rollover

Date:

A 47-year-old man has died following a single-vehicle rollover in the Rural Municipality of Victoria on Oct. 30.

At about 4:05 p.m., Treherne RCMP received a report of a crash on Road 40 North near Road 71 West. When officers arrived, emergency medical services were already on scene performing CPR on the driver, who was the lone occupant of the vehicle. He was pronounced dead a short time later.

Investigators determined the man had been travelling westbound on Road 40 North when his grain truck began to drift into the ditch on the right-hand side. He overcorrected in an attempt to regain control, causing the truck to flip.

RCMP said the truck was not equipped with seatbelts.

Treherne RCMP and an RCMP traffic analyst continue to investigate the collision.
