The Arborg Legion Ladies Auxiliary Spring Tea and Fashion Show returns this year as a beloved annual fundraiser supporting local initiatives.
The event will take place Thursday, May 7 at the Arborg Legion, with doors opening at 6 p.m. and the fashion show beginning at 7.
Board president Marlene Taylor said the event has been a longstanding tradition, bringing the community together for more than 20 years.
“The community gives so much to us, and we like to give back to them when we can,” she said.
This year’s show will feature 18 local models, many of whom have taken part year after year.
Funds raised by the auxiliary are distributed to a variety of local groups, based on an ongoing list of community needs. Proceeds from this year’s event will support two $500 scholarships for graduating students at Arborg Collegiate, provide supplies for Riverdale Place Workshop and contribute to events such as Arborg Street Fest and the Arborg Fair and Rodeo. A portion of the funds will also be donated to the Arborg and District Christmas Cheer Board later in the year.
Over the course of the evening, guests can enjoy a range of outfits styled with clothing from Johnson’s Fashion and Footwear, along with raffle prizes, a silent auction and a selection of eats prepared by volunteers, including sandwiches, dainties, fruit and cheese trays.
Tickets are $10 per person and will be available at the door.
