Gimli Garden Club in full bloom for summer season

Date:

With planting season underway, members of the Gimli Garden Club have been hard at work helping beautify the community while preparing for a busy summer of activities.

Over the past several weeks, club members have participated in a variety of projects and events aimed at promoting gardening and community involvement.

Earlier this spring, several members took part in a clay figurine workshop. Their handmade creations are now on display at Viking Park, showcasing both artistic talent and community spirit. Club representatives extended their thanks to the Gimli Art Club for providing space for the workshop.

One of the club’s largest recent initiatives was its annual planting day. Volunteers planted hundreds of flowers throughout the community, adding colour and vibrancy to public spaces across Gimli.

The club offered special thanks to Nadine Gislason for her efforts in organizing the project, as well as the RM of Gimli for partnering with the club to help make the community beautification effort possible.

The Gimli Garden Club also hosted its annual Plant and Bake Sale on June 13. Organizers described the event as a tremendous success, providing an opportunity for gardening enthusiasts to connect while raising funds to support the club’s activities.

Looking ahead, members are finalizing plans for their upcoming garden competition, along with a series of garden tours and guest speakers planned for the months ahead.

The club welcomes new members and encourages anyone interested in gardening to attend its next meeting, scheduled for June 22 at 2 p.m. at the Gimli Multipurpose Building behind New Horizons 55+.

As gardens continue to flourish throughout the community, the Gimli Garden Club remains committed to fostering a love of gardening while helping keep Gimli in full bloom.
