Storm FC unbeaten streak reaches three games with draw

Date:

Storm FC continued its climb up the Manitoba Major Soccer League Division 5 standings last week.

After earning a point in a 2-2 draw against East Kildonan United FC on Wednesday, Storm moved into a tie for second place.

The match was played less than 24 hours after heavy rainfall left many soccer pitches across Manitoba unplayable.

Despite a venue change, Storm FC and East Kildonan were able to complete their match at Buhler Recreation Park.

Shayne Kornelsen and Dylan Loewen scored for Storm FC, while Gurshan Singh Bhullar and Chashan Toor replied for East Kildonan.

The draw improved Storm FC’s record to 3-2-1 and extended its unbeaten streak to three matches, with the club earning at least a point in each contest.

Storm then turned its attention to a lone match this week against Fratelli Di Calabria FC on Monday at Buhler Recreation Park.

Due to press deadlines, the result of Monday’s match was unavailable at press time.

Upcoming Game

• Tuesday, June 23 vs. Red River Rovers, 7:30 p.m., Buhler Recreation Park
