The Town of Arborg is looking to the public for their next logo.
After “careful consideration” of the town’s growth in recent years, council decided it was time to evolve the identity and future direction of the community with a new logo.
“This redesign is about ensuring the logo better reflects who we are today and where we’re heading in the future,” said Breanna Trudeau, Economic Development Officer for the Town of Arborg. “Over the years, the town’s identity has evolved, and the logo no longer fully reflects the forward-thinking, vibrant vision we have for our future. We feel it’s time for a fresh start—something that better captures the energy, growth, and progress we’re aiming for.”
The current town logo has been around for a while — so long, in fact, that council doesn’t know when it was initially created.
Trudeau said the town’s been mindful of taxpayer dollars throughout the redesign process, which has been planned thoughtfully “to ensure its cost effective and that the benefits, such as modernizing the town’s image and improving communication with visitors and potential businesses, far outweigh the expenses.”
After reaching out to local groups to see if there was interest in providing design ideas for the new logo, the town determined they would hire a graphic designer. Currently, they’re seeking proposals for the new design, which will be used across digital media, print materials, signage, and official documents.
Any designer with an idea is welcome to submit a bid to the town by Feb. 14, 2025. The town will then select a designer, work with them to create four logo concepts that align with the town’s vision, and at the end of March, the community will be invited to vote for their favourite one.
Requirements for submitting a proposal can be found at www.townofarborg.ca/…/2025_RFP-01_Logo_Redesign.pdf. The final logo will be revealed in April at an open house also talking about Arborg’s strategic plan.
“We’re asking for submissions this way because we want to ensure the redesign is both professional and reflective of our community’s input,” said Trudeau. “By inviting graphic designers to submit bids, we’re ensuring that we work with a skilled professional who can bring the vision to life in a polished way.”
