The Bloodshots recently filmed a music video for their newly released single “Gettin’ Around,” written by frontman and guitarist CJ Loane of Selkirk.

“Lyrically, I wrote the song from the point of view of rumours and gossip,” Loane told the Express. “In a sarcastic kind of way. Almost like playing along with the gossip in real life, like giving in to it.”

Director Craig Ovendag said he was inspired after hearing “Gettin’ Around,” which was released April 14. He reached out to the band with a vision for a music video that captured a 1990s esthetic, and felt Winnipeg Beach was the perfect setting for the production.

The group has performed on stages across Canada and beyond, earning recognition throughout North America and internationally. The Bloodshots received the Best Rock Video award at the Indigenous Superstar Awards and the National Native American Music Awards in the United States for their single “No Way Out.” The band was also nominated for Best Rock Band at the Indigenous Music Awards.

Looking ahead to 2026, the band is preparing for a busy touring schedule that includes performances at festivals and venues across the country. The Bloodshots will head to Alberta on June 5 and 6 before returning to Manitoba to perform at Winnipeg Beach on June 27. Following that show, the band will continue touring with additional stops planned in Alberta, Ontario, Nova Scotia and Quebec.
