Interlake Culturama, celebrating culture and heritage

Date:

Friends and family of the Interlake came together to celebrate the rich culture and heritage of Arborg and the communities Friday night.

The Arborg and District Multicultural Heritage Village organized the 9th annual Interlake Culturama event celebrating unity, diversity and joy. Guests each purchased a passport and then moved around the  Arborg Community Hall sampling food from 10 different countries. Countries who are all unique to the Interlake.

The cultural celebration is a reflection of the Interlake today and of the uniqueness of its people. And this year’s event was an evening of eye-catching costumes with colours, feathers, and jewels and energetic performances representing the people of Canada, Phillipines, Paraguay, Ukraine, Punjab, Latin America, Mennonite, First Nations, Iceland and Syria.

The 9th annual Interlake Culturama embodied the spirit perfectly of the people who call the Interlake home. The festival brings people together through food, art, music, and tradition in a vibrant and joyful showcase of its heritage.
