Royals take second at Shaftesbury Varsity Girls Basketball Tournament

The Lord Selkirk Royals Varsity Girls Basketball Team were tournament finalists last week at the Shaftesbury Varsity Girls Basketball Tournament.

In the tournament, the Royals played just two games over Friday and Saturday, going 1-1 en route to their second-place finish.

In their first game, they defeated the Tec Voc Hornets by a score of 48-34 to advance to the finals.

In the finals, they lost 44-38 to the host Shaftesbury Titans, who claimed victory in front of their home crowd.

The Royals also played their penultimate regular season league game on Wednesday, where they defeated the River East Kodiaks 59-22 in River East.

The win is the Royals’ second in regular season play. They improved to 5-5 and sat seventh in KPAC as of Monday, Feb. 24.

On Monday, Feb. 24, the Royals officially wrapped up the regular season against the Kildonan-East Reivers at Kildonan-East. Due to our press schedule, the score of the game was unavailable.
