West St. Paul gets new pumper truck to help keep the community safer

Date:

The citizens of West St. Paul will be able to enjoy the benefits of a new firetruck. This truck replaces a 1989 truck and has many new features that the department will be able to deploy when needed.

The truck was built by Acres Emergency Vehicles and will be used by the community for decades to come.

The truck can carry up to six crew members and the entire crew compartment is protected by a supplement restraint system (SRS), which includes front and side airbags to protect all crew members.

The truck carries 1,000 IMP gallons of water along with foam and is equipped with a Waterous 1,500 IMP gallon per minute pump.

Additional features include a command light tower for scene lighting, a deluge monitor and additional SCBA & SCBA bottle storage but perhaps the most important part of the truck is the tribute on the truck for Robert Platt that says, “You will always be riding with us.”
