HBH Charity Golf Tournament set for July 24

Date:

An annual golf tournament offers a double dose of goodness by honouring the memory of a much-loved woman while also raising money for an important cause.

This year’s HBH Charity Golf Tournament will take place on July 24 at Whispering Winds Golf Course in Warren to raise funds for CancerCare Manitoba.

At the same time, the event honours the legacy of Hailey Belluk Hunt, who lost her battle with breast cancer in September 2022 at the age of 31. Hailey left her mark as a daughter, sister, wife, mom and friend.

“A group of Hailey’s friends and family started the tournament the year after she passed. We wanted something to honour her memory as well as raise awareness and proceeds for CancerCare Manitoba,” said Kristin MacCuish, one of the event organizers.

“Over the last three years, we’ve been able to raise $72,100. It’s always been a great day where we honour her memory. She once golfed barefoot — we have a hole where each golfer tees off with no shoes for that hole, just like Hailey would do.”

Registration costs $800 per four-person team, which includes 18 holes, a shared power cart, lunch, dinner, snacks, a welcome gift, prizes and more. Sponsorship opportunities are also available.

“There are lots of creative ways for companies to get involved through sponsorship. It’s a great cause to support,” she said.

“We’ve opened the tournament to 38 teams this year due to the increase in interest over the years. There will be lots of fun activities and sponsors to make a great day on the course at each of the holes.”

Registration is now open at forms.gle. For more information, or to inquire about sponsorship opportunities, email hbhcharitygolf@gmail.com.
