Healthy Together Now accepting funding opportunities for healthy goals

Date:

Healthy Together Now (HTN) is a community-led grassroots program that helps prevent chronic diseases in Manitoba.  Community organizations are now able to seek funding for prevention activities related to physical activity, healthy eating, tobacco control and reduction, and mental wellness.

Through the Healthy Together Now program, Interlake-Eastern RHA offers funding opportunities for community organizations looking to reduce the prevalence of chronic disease in their communities.

“The Interlake-Eastern RHA is awarding funding to community groups addressing health and wellness issues in their communities. Applications are currently being accepted and grants will be awarded in late Spring. All programs are encouraged to apply,” says Shannon Montgomery, director health services; public health & wellness.

Interested individuals must submit an online application that outlines the proposed project, budget, partner organizations, and target population. The grant will cover expenses directly associated with the program. Submissions will be evaluated by the Interlake-Eastern Healthy Together Now Steering Committee to ensure they meet the established criteria.

Community meetings are being conducted throughout the Interlake-Eastern region for groups seeking funding. These gatherings serve to evaluate potential projects and allow the community to suggest projects for consideration. Attendance at a community meeting is necessary in order to receive funding. Meeting dates have been set from March 13-22.

It is important for all applicants to have a conversation with their designated Interlake-Eastern RHA representative regarding potential projects.
