Interlake Community Foundation grants distributed

Date:

The Interlake Community Foundation (ICF) has again demonstrated its unwavering commitment to local organizations. Recently, at their annual Grants Presentation Evening on Nov. 4 in Teulon, a record-breaking total of $36,984 was distributed among 15 dedicated groups, making a real difference in the community. This year’s event showcased not just the generosity of donors but also the impact that these funds have on education and special programs throughout the region.

With over $420,000 allocated for various initiatives this year alone, ICF is more than just a funding body; it’s an essential partner in shaping the futures of Rockwood, Rosser, Woodlands, Stonewall and Teulon residents.

This event showcased the generosity of local donors and highlighted the spirit of collaboration within the community. The impact of these grants will resonate well beyond just financial support; they symbolize hope and opportunity for many who rely on these vital services.

Grant recipients gratefully accepted funds made possible by generous donations from towns, rural municipalities, and the general public.

– The ICF also made a significant impact by allocating over $21,000 in scholarship funds to high school students from CSC, TCI, and WCI. These scholarships are designed to support the educational journeys of local youth.

Additionally, the foundation redirected resources from a Gender Equality Grant to an important initiative with the Joy Smith Foundation. This partnership aims to educate young people about critical issues while providing essential support.

The ICF  has streamlined its grant application process for the upcoming year. With a new intake date set for June 30, organizations can prepare to submit their applications well in advance.

A dedicated online portal makes accessing and submitting applications easier than ever at interlakefoundation.ca

It’s important to note that only organizations with their own charitable tax number are eligible for grants through ICF.

The Endow Manitoba Giving Challenge is Nov. 12-17. During this time, the ICF asks for donations to one of the unrestricted funds so that they can take advantage of matching dollars up to an additional $4000 thanks to stretch funding from The Winnipeg Foundation and the Government of Manitoba.
