Stonewall Art Group refreshes Heritage Art Centre display

Date:

The Stonewall Art Group has unveiled a new exhibition at the Stonewall Heritage Arts Centre featuring food and travel-themed artwork.

Refreshed on May 11, the latest lobby display includes 46 works created by 16 artists using a variety of mediums, including acrylics, oils and watercolours.

Many of the featured pieces are available for purchase, and several members also accept commissioned work.

The exhibition will remain on display until the fall, when the group completes its next seasonal rotation. The Stonewall Art Group updates the lobby display three times each year.

In addition to the Heritage Arts Centre exhibition, the group also continues its rotating display at the Stonewall Hospital Palliative Care Suite through a partnership involving Age Friendly Manitoba and the Interlake-Eastern Regional Health Authority. Members say the artwork helps brighten the space for patients and families.

Located in Quarry Park, the Heritage Arts Centre is open daily from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The Stonewall Art Group has been meeting weekly at the Heritage Arts Centre since the facility opened and has supported the local arts community for more than 30 years.

Members gather Mondays from noon to 4 p.m. to create and collaborate, taking a break during the summer months before resuming meetings in September.

New members of all skill levels are always welcome. Those interested in joining can contact the group at stonewallartgroup@gmail.com.
