Get ready to put a smile on your face and support a great cause.

Ecole Stonewall Centennial School students and staff are teaming up with Tim Hortons in Stonewall for a sweet fundraiser that will make you grin from April 29 to May 5.

Vice Principal, Jeff Levesque, shared with the Tribune the school’s ongoing efforts to enhance various areas around the school.

Two years ago, Waring Landscape Supply generously donated rock and limestone to enhance the front of the school. This donation kick-started the school’s vision for a more natural looking outdoor space that both students and staff can enjoy. The plan is to carry on this theme throughout other areas in need of improvement around the school.

Financial assistance is crucial for both enhancing and addressing a significant list of needs. The parent information group at Centennial School has played a key role in backing the fundraising efforts for the Green Space Renovation project. With a determination to make the most of available resources, the team is actively seeking out grants that align with their objectives.

The goal of the project is to create inviting outdoor spaces where students can engage in various activities. By incorporating elements like trees, shade structures, and potentially resurfacing the track and baseball diamonds, the school hopes to transform its outdoor environment into a vibrant hub for recreational and social interactions.

“We want to get the best value for the least amount of money,” Levesque said.

Each spring Tim Hortons locations across Canada partner with local charities to raise funds through Smile Cookie sales. The program started in 1996 and today over 600 local charities and organizations in communities across Canada benefit from Smile Cookie sales. One hundred per cent of every smile cookie sold at the Stonewall’s Tim Horton from April 29 to May 5 will be donated to the Centennial School Green Space Renovation fundraiser.

Cookies can be pre-ordered by the dozen for $18 or a half dozen for $9. Stop by the school or Tim Hortons in Stonewall to pick up an order form. Fill it out and drop it off at Tim Hortons with your payment. You can still support the cause by purchasing Smile Cookies directly at Tim Hortons in Stonewall without needing a form.
