Wildcats remain third in Price Division after three-game stretch

Date:

The Warren Wildcats sit third in the Price Division with a 17–3 record in Winnipeg High School Hockey League play following a three-game week that included a home victory.

Warren opened the stretch with a 4–1 road loss to Niverville on Feb. 3. Rhet King scored the Wildcats’ lone goal on the power play in the first period, but Niverville pulled away with two third-period goals and an empty-netter.

The Wildcats bounced back at home with a 4–2 win over John Taylor. King led the offence with two goals, including the go-ahead marker in the third period, while Sawyer Park opened the scoring and Lexon Hogg added an insurance goal late.

Warren was unable to complete the sweep in a Feb. 6 rematch at John Taylor, falling 4–1. Hogg scored for the Wildcats in the third period, but John Taylor responded with three unanswered goals down the stretch, including an empty-netter.

Warren returns to action next week with a home game against Edward Schreyer on Feb. 9 at 3:15 p.m., followed by a road matchup with West K on Feb. 10 at 3:45 p.m., before hosting Lundar on Feb. 12 at 3:15 p.m.
