Carman Health Auxiliary helps fund new emergency light

Date:

The Carman Health Auxiliary is continuing its 121st year of service by supporting upgrades at the Carman Memorial Hospital.

With help from two other community groups, the Auxiliary recently provided funding to replace the hospital’s overhead emergency light.

The new light, which cost $13,921, is smaller than the original 1982 model, making it easier to move and position. It also uses adjustable LED bulbs, providing brighter and more efficient lighting.

With that project now complete, the Auxiliary has turned its focus to raising $7,779.59 for a new “Sit to Stand” mechanical lift.

The group will hold its annual spring tea May 10 at the Carman United Church to support ongoing fundraising efforts.

“We are grateful for the support from the Legion, Branch 18, the Carman MCC Shop and the community as a whole for their support,” said Betty Park of the Carman Health Auxiliary.
