Carman Chamber honours local business excellence

The Carman & Community Chamber of Commerce celebrated the people and businesses that help drive the region’s economic and community vitality during the 2025 Chamber Business Awards on Thursday, Nov. 27 at Boyne River Bistro.

Guests, nominees and sponsors gathered for an evening themed Celebrating Carman. Cocktails and appetizers were served at 6:30 p.m., followed by award presentations at 7 p.m.

This year’s program also featured three guest speakers who reflected on Carman’s business landscape from different generational perspectives. Cheryl Bartley of Carman Florists spoke about the community’s business past, Dale Reimer of TRS highlighted the present, and Jessica Knaggs of Knockabouts offered insight into the community’s future and the next generation of entrepreneurs.

The event was supported by MMJS Law Office, Community Futures Heartland, Syl’s, Beukema Pneumatics and Homestead Co-op, whose sponsorship helped provide complimentary appetizers and beverages.ntary appetizers and beverages.

Nominees and Winners

The Chamber extended congratulations to all nominees across five award categories.

Outstanding Business of the Year

Nominees: Royal Bank Carman, Pembina Valley Tent Rentals, Toews Printing, Seahawk, Boyne River Bistro, Carman Floristas and Hilltop Meats.

Winner: Boyne River Bistro. 

New Business of the Year

Nominees: Boyne River Bistro, Mama Bear’s Quilt Shop, Spin Sisters and The Prices Rite Dollar Store.

Winner: Spin Sisters

Community Builder Award

Nominees: Paul’s Place Carman, Leora Collingridge, Richard Dyck, Deana Gauld and Lindsay Boeve.

Winner: Lindsay Boeve

Social Media Excellence

Nominees: O’Brien Built Ltd., Prairie Golf Supplies, Carman Ford and Evensong Shoppe.

Winner: Carman Ford

Chamber Member of the Year

Nominees: Ken Reimer, Ray Shier, Jordan Beukema and Lisa and Dustin Dreger of Hometown Car Wash.

Winner: Ray Shier 

The Chamber thanked all who attended in support of Carman’s business sector and recognized the ongoing contributions of local entrepreneurs, volunteers and community leaders.
