Morweena varsity girls win Teulon tournament

The Morweena Raptors varsity girls’ volleyball team went undefeated until the final against the host Teulon Saints in tournament action Oct. 17. The Raptors dropped the opening set 21-25 but battled back to defeat the Saints 25-18 and 15-13 to claim the championship.

In the semifinal, Morweena downed St. Laurent’s Aurele-Lemoine 25-18 and 25-21. Earlier in the tournament, the Raptors beat the Fisher River Hawks 25-11 and 25-17, the St. Laurent Hawks 25-10 and 25-15, St. Laurent Aurele-Lemoine 25-20 and 27-25, and the Saints 25-11 and 25-16.
