Carman Cardinals set for eighth season in Border Baseball League

Date:

The Carman Cardinals Baseball Club is gearing up for its eighth season in the Border Baseball League. The team will play a 14-game regular season schedule followed by a best-of-five playoff series.

This year, a new team, Holland, has joined the league’s West Division. The Cardinals will face each East Division opponent in a three-game series and play single games against teams in the West.

Alongside returning players, the Cardinals have added some young talent, including local left-handed pitcher Pearce McDonald, who previously played for Morden.

“We are looking forward to a great season,” said team spokesperson Jack Pethybridge. “Come out and enjoy—see you at the ballpark!”

The Cardinals’ season begins May 16 in Morden. The first home game is Tuesday, May 27, against Altona, with the first pitch at 7 p.m.
