Members of Carman Skating Club recently competed in Skate Manitoba’s Winter Blast Competition, which was held in Morden on Feb. 3 and 4. The competition welcomed Star Skaters from all figure skating disciplines, ranging from Star 1 to Gold levels. Skaters from across Manitoba, Northern Ontario, and Saskatchewan participated in the event, making it a truly diverse and competitive experience. It was the first time that Camryn, Danielle, and Jordyn competed in a competitive setting, showcasing their skills in the Star 1 free skate elements. In this event, Danielle and Camryn were awarded silver while Jordyn received gold. Emma also took part in the competition at the Star 3 level, impressing judges with her free skate elements and performance to Taylor Swift’s popular song “Style”. She was awarded silver in both events. Next up for these talented skaters is the provincial championships held by Skate Manitoba from March 1 to 3 in Altona. Once again, they will showcase their skills in various events including free skate elements, programs, and musical improv routines. Good luck to all our skaters!

There are skating lessons available for all age groups at the Carman Skating Club, including parents and toddlers, adult skaters, and fitness enthusiasts. Currently, club members are dedicated to preparing for the annual ice show called “Ken & Barbie in Ice World”. Parent volunteers are constructing decorations and props, while the coach and skaters are diligently rehearsing their routines. Save the date for this exciting event on Friday, March 15 at 6:30 p.m. at the Carman Dufferin Arena.
