The Fraserwood Hall will be holding its annual community picnic and parade on June 23 that will include a silent auction, 50/50 raffle, food, entertainment and games for the kids.
Tanya Mishtak, one of the co-organizers of the event, said they’re proud to have the support of businesses and the community.
“Access Credit Union is sponsoring the pancake breakfast and J and J Store is providing free slushies and free popcorn,” she said. “Armstrong Construction is giving away ice cream.”
The day kicks off with the pancake breakfast from 9-11 a.m. followed by the parade which starts at noon.
Mishtak said all floats are welcome and that parade participants should start setting up at 11:30 a.m. as the road is scheduled to close at 11:45 for safety.
Games for the kids start at 1 p.m. There will also be races (2:30 p.m.), a dunk tank (1-3 p.m.), feed the donkey (1-3), and two bouncy houses courtesy of Arborg Entertainment.
“There will be an east versus west of Highway 7 tug-o-war at 4 p.m.,” said Mishtak.
The hall’s canteen and a beer garden will open at 1 p.m. along with live entertainment from the band Night Train from 1-5 p.m.
The hall could use some volunteers to help out at the event.
