Boughton named Provincial MVP

Sydney Boughton, along with her team WinMan Fire, defeated the #1 ranked Junior Bisons Gold to win the U15 Provincial Club Volleyball Championship at Sport Manitoba Sunday.  Boughton was honoured to be named the tournament MVP. 

The three-day tournament hosted 38 teams from across the province at four venues in Winnipeg – UofW,  RRC, Dakota Field House, and Sport Manitoba.

WinMan Fire was ranked third entering the tournament.  In the semi-finals, they defeated the #2 ranked Dynamo in three sets.  

In the final, WinMan Fire faced a formidable Bison team. After a tough start, they rallied back from a 6-point deficit in the second set, winning it 25-23.  They carried this momentum into the third set, clinching the championship with a 15-10 victory.   Boughton and her teammates are now gearing up for the National Tournament in Edmonton on May 16-18. 

Boughton is the daughter of Kevin and Tammy Boughton and lives in Stonewall while attending College Sturgeon Heights Collegiate
