Carman Burger Week has six restaurants vying for top hamburger

Six Carman restaurants are participating in the annual Burger Week competition this year, with an assortment of beefy burgers featuring ramen noodles, sizzling spuds and specialty sauces.

“This year, our local restaurants have gone above and beyond to bring you spectacular burger entries,” said Jodi Winkler of the Carman and Community Chamber of Commerce. “I can’t stop wiping the drool as I pour over all the beautiful burger photos.”

The competition began Sept. 24 and continues until Oct 1. Patrons are encouraged to try all the burgers and vote for their favourites.

Be sure to follow the Chamber of Commerce’s page on Facebook and Instagram for your chance to win Burger Bucks that can be redeemed this week. 

The chamber will begin accepting votes online (www.carmanchamber.ca)  on Sept. 25 at noon.

Six feature burgers:

Boyne River Bistro Bugle Burger – This burger consists of a juicy elk patty smashed into a bed of onions and placed on a Brioche bun. It is topped with Swiss cheese, Saskatoon sauce, lettuce, tomato and sliced bacon.

Breakaway Family Restaurant’s Deep-Fried Lasagna Burger – This homemade burger is made with beef lasagna, ricotta cheese, spinach and cottage cheese. Throw in a homemade sauce and deep-fried. All of this is served on an onion bun, with a choice of home fries or garden salad.

McGee’s Spudtacular Burger – The Spudtacular consists of a homemade patty with marble cheddar cheese, fried onions, lettuce, tomato, and McGee’s signature burger sauce between a jumbo baked potato. It is served with sour cream on the side.

The Sergei Ramen Burger from Big Willy’s – A fresh ground pork burger mixed with garlic, ginger and ramen noodles. It is topped with bacon and a ramen Thai peanut slaw. All of this is served on a grilled sesame seed bun.

The Rumble Burger from Carman Golf Course – A 5.5 ounce beef patty topped with sweet chilli, onions and shredded cheddar cheese on a potato scallion bun.

Chicken Chef’s Mexican Street Corn Burger – The Mexican Street Corn Burger consists of a beef patty with creamy Mexican street corn sauce, cheese, pickled onions and corn chips.
