Storm FC move into second with 4-1 win over Fratelli

Date:

Another week, another win for Storm FC.

The Arborg-based club’s offence was once again a key factor as it extended its unbeaten streak to four matches.

Last Monday, Storm defeated Fratelli Di Calabria FC 4-1 at Buhler Recreation Park in its lone match of the week.

Storm received goals from four different scorers as Rogan Dueck, Zachary Friesen, Zach Kornelsen and Tristan Penner all found the back of the net. Fratelli’s lone goal came from Joshua Danylchuk.

By collecting the full three points, Storm moved into second place in the Manitoba Major Soccer League Division 5 standings with a 4-2-1 record, 13 points and a plus-nine goal differential.

Storm now trails only Prairie United (5-0-2), a team it will face later this week.

Before that matchup, Storm will take on the third-place Red River Rovers (3-0-2).

Storm and the Rovers will meet Tuesday at Buhler Recreation Park, with kickoff scheduled for 7:30 p.m.

The match against Prairie United follows Sunday at Republic of Manitobah Park, with kickoff set for 7 p.m.

Upcoming Games:

• Tuesday, June 23 — vs. Red River Rovers, 7:30 p.m., Buhler Recreation Park

• Sunday, June 28 — vs. Prairie United, 7 p.m., Republic of Manitobah Park
